Copenhagen Airport - proxSafe flexx

100% Control of the Keys in Copenhagen Airport

To secure control of keys and access cards have always been a great challenge for Copenhagen Airport. The keys must be available to staff 24 hours a day year round, while ensuring that keys are not lost.
"We wanted to ensure future security of dealing with our keys and access cards. With the new electronic proxSafe key management system (5 flexx 12U and 1 flexx 24U), we can always see who has the keys", explains Stig Høeg Andersen, Administrative Supervisor for Security Guard and area security. All keys bundles are now fitted with an electronic chip that is read by key cabinets where keys are kept locked when not in use.Increased security and reduced administrationAccording to Stig Høeg Andersen, the system is user friendly, both for the staff administering the system and staff who daily get and returns their service keys. It is the system able to define which and how many keys each employee should have. proxSafe system registers simultaneously, who has/had the keys. "The system is secure and very flexible. To gain access to the keys using the employee ID cards yet they must always have them at all. You can tag each card so it only gives access to the key employees need. This means that the majority of all key renditions and returns can happen automatically."

Flexible for all
The system has ensured a constant high security in our key management, but according to Stig Høeg Andersen the proxSafe system has several advantages: "If an employee needs a key that does not normally possess, it may be released from our operations center. All events in the system are stored in a log, so we can always tell who had the key when. If a key is not returned as expected, the responsible person is immediately alerted via email."

Many opportunities
The new system has done the daily administration of our key systems significantly easier and more secure. "So far we have installed proxSafe make 4 key points in the airport and the system's flexible modular structure allows us to easily modify and expand the plant," says Stig Høeg Andersen.

proxSafe system is supplied by Ringsted company Digana-Taximat A/S, which supplies electronic systems to access and admin station of keys and valuables.
