proxSafe and Johanniter „In-home emergency call“ for immediate help

The Johanniter healthcare organization in Ratingen has approx. 3,000 emergency call devices in use for elderly people which live in their own homes. In case of an emergency a transmitter will activate an alarm at the healthcare center in Ratingen. This emergency coordination center arranges immediate help and access for the Emergency Medical Services.

Task:
The healthcare organization required complete control and swift access to the keys of their customers and needed to prove that the front door keys were always secure. Concomitantly, the response staff needs quick and reliable access to the appropriate key in the event of emergency.

Solution:
An integrated proxSafe installation now provides control and accountability for all residence keys 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The user-friendly proxSafe system has enabled the healthcare organization to securely store their clients keys at the center, yet respond immediately in case of an alarm. Administrative overhead has been reduced and staff allocated to other operating requirements.

Configuration:
Three vertical cabinets have been installed on site, each holding up to 512 keys or key bundles. An incoming alarm initiates the coordination of staff, vehicle and residence key via the proxSafe Argus Fleet Management Software. Mifare credentialing technology has been embedded for high security.
