proxSafe maxx for high security in the forensic hospital

The district hospital Haar, near Munich, cares for psychologically ill criminals and treats them for their disorders. High security ward areas and therapy stations are for up to 120 patients and 6 stations. The security of the inmate population and of hospital staff must be ensured and is a substantial task for management and treatment.

Task:
The control and issue of keys was controlled and managed manually. For safety reasons no keys may leave the building. The forensic department of the hospital required complete control over their keys allowing only certain users access.

Solution:
The integrated proxSafe installation provides full control and accountability for all critical keys 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The user-friendly proxSafe system has enabled the forensic hospital to track key movements by time, date and user. Administrative overhead has been reduced and staff allocated to other operating requirements. With proxSafe the hospital has effected a major improvement in efficiency and security.

Configuration:
One proxSafe maxx has been installed on site holding up to 32 keys or key bundles. Access is now controlled via the proxSafe Commander Software, 125 kHz credentialing technology has been embedded for high security.
