German Red Cross Stuttgart - proxSafe maxx

proxSafe key management for 24/7 control

The Emergency Medical Services of the German Red Cross in Stuttgart manages 200 staff members and 45 vehicles. Their integrated control center responds 24 hours a day to incoming emergency calls and coordinates the assignment of the Red Cross and Fire-brigade personnel.

Task:
Key control was a major challenge for the organization. Keys were available for issue to personnel only during office hours. The German Red Cross required complete 24/7 control and access to their keys allowing access only to authorized users.

Solution:
An integrated proxSafe installation now provides full control and accountability for all keys 24 hours a day, 7 days the week, 365 days a year. The user-friendly proxSafe system enables the German Red Cross to track key movements by time, date and user. Administrative overhead has been reduced and staff allocated to other operating requirements. As vehicles are returned, mileage readings are collected and registered automatically and vehicle damage/maintenance requirements can be reported at any time.

Configuration:
Two proxSafe maxx systems were installed on site managing up to 64 keys or key bundles. Access to these keys is controlled via the proxSafe Commander Software, Legic credentialing technology has been embedded for high security.
