protec service GmbH manages keys electronically

Since the beginning of June 2010 protec - a company located in Hannover-Döhren - uses an electronic key management system of deister electronic. The employees of protec receive the keys by using RFID cards. They identify themselves by placing their cards in front of the terminal of the key cabinet proxSafe flexx. Their access authorisation is stored on the card. The cabinet opens automatically and the slot of the key the employee wants to withdraw lights up. The other keys are firmly anchored in the cabinet by a holding device and can not be removed by unauthorised persons. The system stores electronically which keys have been removed. If a key ring is missing at the end of a day, the electronic management program informs the shift supervisor via e-mail. The employee who last had the key in his/ her possession, can then be addressed directly. Thanks to innovative RFID technology, keeping track of key movements has become a lot easier: manually written records are unnecessary now. Unnecessary long search for lost keys is prevented, and operational procedures run smoothly.
